Cognitive reflection, cognitive intelligence, and cognitive abilities: A meta-analysis

This paper presents a series of psychometric meta-analysis on the relationship between cognitive reflection (CR) and several abilities (i.e., intelligence, numerical ability, verbal mechanical-spatial working memory), skills numeracy skills). Also, bifactor analysis carried out to determine whether CR is related but independent factor or second-stratum in hierarchical model intelligence. Finally, study also tested path meta-analytic CR-cognitive ability relationships. The results showed that correlated substantially with all ( K ranged from 3 44 N 624 20,307). variance was mainly accounted for by general intelligence plus ability. were similar numerical-CRT verbal-CRT. It not found evidence supporting existence factor. combination 69% variance. have direct indirect (through skills) effects CR.
